Yellowstone Adventures Day 1 Part, ?

I had never been to Yellowstone prior to this so forgive my excitement over what you may yawn at.
The first day out it was foggy and damp. The sort of day made for spooky adventures in a magical forest. One of the first unusual sights to catch my eye was wisps of steam curling up from holes in the hillsides. It rather unnerved me to think that you could potentially step into a steaming hot hole and not even know it until it was too late, but it's fascinating to see.
Most of the mist floating through this valley came from steam vents in the rocks and hills, along with a little from the river.
I tried to capture the jewel like droplets of water glittering from bare shrub branches. It sparkles a bit, don't you think? You can see that the sun was starting to come out here, and brighten the day.

There will be more to come, as I can't figure out why my edited photos aren't showing up here. Good night for now. Sweet dreams all you in blogger land.

Chasing Rainbows ... a Fun Photo Shoot

We went to a ward picnic the other day. Rain had been drizzling or pelting down most of the morning and when we got back from Costco there were rivers of water rushing down our street. Hubby and the bishop said a prayer that things would clear for the party and sure enough, we had sunshine over the area behind this chapel until the party was over. I took my mother-in-law home early as she was cold and is a tiny frail thing, but not before I chased some rainbow shots. The above one was taken as we were leaving the parking lot.
We ventured down a country road. Do you see a pot of gold out there in the field?
 A little closer view.
The mountains that watch over our valley on the east side.....
somewhere in this glorious shot are the mountains to the west. This is God stuff.... I hope you enjoy!

Coming Home.....

The air cooled my face as my hand out my car window directed the breeze my way. As soon as I get through the Minam canyon into the valley I have to catch the scent of home. It was a perfect night for a corn feed at the Enterprise city park, reconnecting with friends. I love the clean and cooler air here. It's time to go mow the jungle out front, evidence that the timers on the hose set up worked to keep things watered while I was away. Have a great day!

Utah in Spring....

Well.... I was going to post a recipe, but my camera is in the back of the car, which is in a repair bay at the dealership, and the matching photos for the recipe are still on the camera, so.... I will share some springtime photos instead. We took my MIL for a drive the other night and here is what we were treated to...

I am looking for painting subject matter. I love the colors in the bottom photo. Oh, it looks as if the care may be ready.... hold on.... in the mean time I will see if I have time to download some flower photos before I have to go...
Oh looky, I think I will be here until Memorial Day , but hey, I have photos to share right?
So...springtime in Utah is quite lovely, even if it did snow today. Tomorrow promises to be warmer, but I better go check night time temps so I know whether to shelter the tender seedlings in my mini green house.
